It might be that my last kid is getting older and I miss shopping for all of the fun school supplies, but I got inspired to try making a School Supply “Cake”, and accidentally made 3 of them before I could stop. Instructions
Use Tape to attach the tin of Cookies to the charger plate or other chosen base.
Place 2 large rubber bands around the Wipes container (or other center object: Paper Towels, Tissue box, etc…) then insert spiral notebooks under the rubber bands, overlapping them like this.
Use Tape to attach the Wipes container to the top of the Cookie tin.
Place another large rubber band around the spirals and insert the Thin Marker boxes. Note: Using more than one rubber band, you can alternate placing each box under a different rubber band to make them more secure.
Place another large rubber band around the Markers and begin inserting the Glue bottles and Crayon boxes alternating them to form a pattern.
Place another large rubber band around the Markers. Using double-sided tape or glue dots, attach 1 Expo marker and 2 glue sticks as in the picture. Insert them behind the rubber band.
Place 2 wide rubber bands around the Pencil Cup and insert the boxes of Pencils. Using Tape, attach the Pencil cup to the top of the Wipes container.
While holding the Ruler vertical, fill the Pencil cup with Chocolates or other treats, topping with Pencil Topper Erasers (to look like sprinkles).
Add Wide Ribbon around the Glue stick row using double-sided Tape.
Add Bulletin Board borders or more Wide Ribbon to embellish and hide the rubber bands.
Add Artificial Flowers if desired, by bending the flower’s stem and tucking it in. Using double-sided Tape, attach a Sign to the top of the ruler. I made my signs using images from Cricut design space, added a layer of holographic lamination, and cut them out using my Cricut maker, but handmade signs would work fine too.
I decided to create a Raffle event to give these away. I posted on Instagram and Facebook to have Teachers, or folks with special Teachers in their lives, post the teacher’s name, grade, and classroom wishlist… then 3 winners will be chosen at random and the prizes delivered to the winner teachers on the first day of school.
Please reach out and share if this was helpful for you, or if you have any suggestions to make it better.
